Before I started traveling and actually taking care of my body there were a lot of shit I had to go through and that had a toll on my body. Smoking, drinking, and being depressed from the line of my work. Being in sales drains your soul and requires a lot of time. However after giving it up for a more meaningful life, my body started to heal itself naturally and bad habits just went away on it’s on. However it did require action on my end, and I will share some tips on what I did to make things easier and effortless for me.
You need to have some form of morning ritual. It does not matter, drinking tea, looking out the ocean, running, yoga, meditation, etc. It’s a way to prime your mind and body for the day and prepare what is to come. You don’t want to be stressing and running with a time constraint, so wake up early and perform your morning rituals to have a placid mind. I personally like to meditate for 10 minutes, and visualize how I would like to see my day go out and what I would like to achieve in the future. Sometimes I will go for a jog, swim, but it’s not very consistent. Find something that you can consistently without having to dread yourself to do it. The more you do it, it becomes a habit and becomes easier.
This is obvious, but you need to be move around to keep a healthy mind and a healthy body for traveling. If you are not able to hike around the woods, party, go surfing, etc, what good is traveling. It’s about enjoying your moments and making the best out of it. It’s so much easier to have more fun when you are fit and healthy. Try jogging every week, weightlifting, swimming, etc. Something that you enjoy and like. It does not necessarily have to be unpleasant; find an activity that you would enjoy doing that burns calories and do it.
I personally swim at least 3 times per week. This keeps my body healthy and it doesn’t actually feel like I am going out of my way to exercise, because I just like to go swimming for a fun activity, much like how we like to watch fun movies.
Traveling can get dirty and if you don’t take care of yourself you will have some trouble. For example, I didn’t brush my teeth or floss, but one night I guess I ate something that was crunchy that ended up getting stuck in my gums which became an infection. An expensive infection! Luckily I booked an appointment with a nearby dentist from this website and had it taken care of. However, it reminded how small things can eventually turn into bigger problems.
Brushing your teeth, showering, living in a clean environment, etc all have a small impact on our bodies, so take your hygiene seriously. Plus, the women love hygienic guys 😉
Eating good foods
What you eat is mostly going to be who you are. If you are eating a lot of junk food with a lot of fats, sugars, and salt, you will feel like shit. Instead opt for more cleaner diets. I am not saying to go vegan like everyone else does, but include more wholesome foods into your diet instead of prepackaged, frozen foods. You will feel much better when you give up all that junk in your life.
Eating itself is also an art. Taste the food and enjoy the food instead of munching down as much as possible. Really feel the sensations, and be grateful for such amazing food. It really is perspective! I love to sip on some hot tea or coffee and just let my thoughts go silent. Well hope you all enjoyed it. Until next post!
